Once upon a time Barbie dolls allowed little girls to imagine all sorts of worlds, and to be just like these dolls. Today there’s Morgana and her 101 Barbies, Franchina the (remote-controlled) toy car, four plastic Kens and one human Ken. A journey from individual struggle to collective catharsis, an invitation to reclaim ownership over our bodies.

Biography

Born in Bologna, Morgana Morandi is an Italian circus artist. After earning a degree in Psychology in 2017 and spending many years practising rhythmic gymnastics, she trained at FLIC in Turin from 2017 to 2020, specialising in aerial hoop. She further developed her skills in clowning with Willy The Clown, in contortion with Alessandra Canini and Agostina Recinella, and in contemporary dance through l’Alta Formazione della Compagnia Arearea.

In 2022, she co-founded the circus and street theater company Le Vamp and created her first show, Pink Punk, which she has since performed at numerous venues and festivals across Europe. She has been working on her current project, Miss SBarbie, since 2022.
