The Curse of Empathy

New magic, theatrical circus

Do you remember the moment you realised your parents were just people? Or the moment you recognised yourself in a child? The Curse of Empathy explores what is passed from one generation to the next, and what it means to discover oneself as part of a larger chain. Like a garden passed from hand to hand, each of us inherits a land we never fully possess.

Biography

Based in Tampere, Opus Company explores the intersections between theatre, illusion, circus and installation art. Their practice relies on singular objects and striking scenographies to question how meaning is conveyed. A graduate of the École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal, Kerttu Opus created the solo show Particle # B in 2015 and has toured internationally. Trained at NICA in Australia, Adam Opus is a circus artist, director and theatre maker.
