The circusnext 2024 selection process is composed of 3 stages
The 1st and 2nd steps of the selection process are based on an application form, to which candidates will have to attach a video of their project. The 3rd step is based on an on stage performance and a 1 hour interview.
Step 1 – National Pre-selections
April to June 2023
The national committees (composed of professionals and local artists) meet to study the applications received in each European country and make a first selection of projects.
Step 2 – European Selection of Finalists
November 2023
The European Selection of Finalists is held in Paris: all the members of the circusnext Platform meet to select 12 Finalists projects.
Step 3 – Selection of Laureates
06-11/05/2024
During the Selection of Laureates at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale (Paris), the 12 Finalists present on stage a 15-20 minutes work in progress of their show to professionals and the artistic jury. Based on their on stage performance and a 1 hour interview, the artistic jury selects the 4 circusnext 2024 Laureates.
The 4 Laureates will perform for the general public on May 16 & 17, 2024 for the Revelations circusnext at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale (Paris).
